M249 SAW
Signature: Support
A more mobile light machine gun — faster to shoulder and steadier than the PKP, at the cost of per-shot punch. Support fire you can actually reposition with.
- BipodDeploy on cover for near-zero recoil and a locked-down lane.
- Red DotCleaner aiming reference for faster, more consistent target acquisition.
- Vertical GripTightens recoil and hip-fire spread for steadier sustained fire.
- Extended BeltMore rounds before you reload — fewer lulls in a drawn-out fight.
The M249 is the mobile answer to the belt-fed wall. Lighter than the PKP, it trades some of that gun's sheer stopping power for the ability to actually move with the squad and set up on the fly. Suppress, advance, re-anchor — repeat.
It's the Support weapon for a push rather than a hold: a hundred rounds you can carry into the fight instead of parking behind.
Handier than the heavy LMGs but still climbs when fired standing. The bipod tames it; deployed, it holds a lane almost as flat as the PKP.
Deals full damage out to 14m, falls off to its floor by 55m. Fight inside the green and it out-trades; past the red, switch weapons or reposition.
Lead: at 850 m/s the round travels fast — hold only a sliver ahead of a runner at distance. Slower rounds need a full body of lead.
Fast, mobile, forgiving up close — for flanks, rooms, and the swing.
Flat and steady for holding lanes — trade at distance where others fall off.
Move, then suppress
Its lighter weight lets you reposition with the squad and set up fresh. Take ground, plant, and lock the new lane.
Deploy to hold
Standing fire wanders — drop the bipod the moment you want to anchor and the recoil collapses to near nothing.
Feed the push
A hundred-round belt keeps pressure on while the squad advances behind your fire. You suppress, they flank.
